Meet the Team: Kim!

Kim is from Revere, MA, She is the shop momma, literally because she is Kerri's (our owner) mom :) She has over 30 years experience as a floral designer and came to Kinship to work with her daughter and the rest of the Kinship girls designing weddings and events! She’s also a grandmother of 6! Kim is the sweetheart of the studio. You can meet her once and she instantly makes you feel like part of the family. Our clients are always wanting to come in and visit Kim!
Here are some more fun facts about Kim:
How would you describe what you do at Kinship?
I specialize in sympathy work. When we aren't designing weddings, we actually do quite a bit of sympathy work. I always strive to make sure a loved one's tribute is just perfect. It means just as much to me as it does to our clients.
What part of your job is most rewarding?
Working side by side with my daughter. Getting to be a part of a flourishing creative business. I also love meeting our clients and learning about their events.
What got you into this field?
I started out as a shop assistant way back when my kids were in grade school. Over time, I started to learn more about design and eventually went to design school. I've been hooked since.
What is a little known fact about you?
I was a drum major for a drum core and I can actually do the pogo stick!
What is your coffee drink order?
I'll drink any coffee however, I may have a slight addiction to Diet Coke. Particularly from the fountain. If you ask the team, they likely have all had to do a Diet Coke run on my behalf at some point.
What is the last book you read?
I admittedly do not read as a pastime. I tend to fall asleep after the first page.
What is the last Netflix show you binged?
Definitely Grey's Anatomy, Nurse Jackie and Grace and Frankie. Netflix is on in the studio and since I am the momma, I get to pick.
What is your favorite type of flower?
If it's different, funky and grown wild, it's for me. I work with a lot of the same flowers over the years, so I love when something unique comes our way.
